This is the engine bay of his ’82 Land Cruiser that he just had restored. Don’t know much about these trucks myself, but I know there are plenty of fans here.

Ah the 2F, a slightly updated version of Toyota’s take on a 30's Chevy Stovebolt. The big change for the 2F over the F? ALL the oil now goes through the oil filter, instead of just some of it.

And even more impressive is that the mechanic had all his tools replaced with gardening utensils and the only lubricants he was allowed to use were lard and bacon grease.

I liked Good Eats. Cutthroat Kitchen less so.

Yes— he had a beautiful 2002 that I think he sold recently.
I love Good Eats, and enjoyed his live shshow. I’m not a fan of cutthroat either though.

As long as they were metric gardening tools, he should be alright.

fun fact, this engine and the engine in the first corvette are very similar, to the point where some parts are interchangeable.

Isn’t the 2F a copy of the Blue Flame though? The Type B was a different motor that was
also
a GM clone.

yeah, it was a blue flame 235, not directly related to the stovebolt (though the blueflame and stovebolt had commonality). And you are right with the Type B. Toyota wanted familiarity and trust with their exports, so they went a safe route and licensed GM engines (more or less).

Wouldn’t be the last time Toyota saw something that GM had that they wanted.
This was it. This was the last time. Never again.

I can’t even right now lol. We need help with our addictions xD
Also, I’ve counted about 5 smarts in SLC so far, Model Years 2009 (1 car) and 2013-2015 (4 cars) (there were no changes between 2013 and 2015 that are readily noticeable).

The only item in your garage that should be single use is the fire extinguisher!
I still have yet to try making muffins in coffee mugs. :D

I’d watch that show. A combination of Junkyard Wars and Cutthroat kitchen.
